Youth FAQ

Q: What do I bring to my first session? Do I need any paperwork?

A: Simply bring your paperwork, and a water bottle with you and you are good to go! Your paperwork can be found under the Forms tab in the Menu header, just fill it out in its entirety and bring it with you to your first class.

Q: Does my child have to be enrolled in youth athletics?

A: No, any child is welcome, regardless of athletic ability or participation.

Q: Are there discounts available if my other children want to enroll?

A: Yes, the more the merrier! Please see our Pricing page for all discount options.

Q: My child’s teammates are participating in one of C4’s youth athlete training programs. Should I join?

A: Absolutely! Research shows that athletic development happens best in a group environment, and there are discounts available for teams who enroll. Please see our Pricing page for all discount options.

Q: How long is the C4 curriculum program?

A: As long as you want! We offer memberships in 1, 2, or 3 month increments, where you child will attend twice a week (or more if requested). Research shows that participating in vigorous activity in a non-sport specific way can actually improve overall skill and development in all activities regardless of sport. The longer your child’s participation, the greater the results.

Q: What can C4 do for athletes who are looking for nutrition and hydration help?

A: C4 coaches are well versed in their nutrition. Athletes are encouraged to ask questions about nutrition and hydration. For a further in depth consultation we offer a nutrition service, details can be found on our Pricing page!

Q: My child was recently hurt or had surgery. Are they able to participate in C4?

A: We strongly encourage it! C4 Performance Training was founded by Charan Chadha, a physical therapist with nearly 20 years of experience in sports and orthopedic injuries. We specialize in rehabilitation training and assess each athlete entering our program using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and SFMA assessments. This allows our team of experts to accurately identify strength, weaknesses and imbalances immediately so that we can customize each athlete’s program, especially one recovering from injury or surgery.

Q: My child has been struggling with self-image and self-confidence issues. What do you offer?

A: We believe that mental health is as important, if not more important, than our other pillars of the curriculum. Please note that sports counseling is additional; see our Pricing page for all costs.

ADULT FAQ

Q) What is aerobic conditioning?

A) Aerobic conditioning is continuous, rhythmic movements of large muscle groups (slow twitch muscle fibers).  This strengthens the heart and lungs thus increasing oxygen uptake and metabolic rate.

 

Q) What is anaerobic conditioning?

A) Anaerobic conditioning is high intensity, short duration activities targeting fast twitch muscle fibers. Strength, speed, and power are improved through this type of conditioning

 

Q) Why is C4 different?

A) Our well qualified staff strives to take you to the next level.  We approach fitness with a medical foundation that allows us to identify imbalances, weaknesses, movement deficits, and nutritional deficits.  We challenge our clients to uphold our core values in and out of the weight room (Cultivate, Challenge, Compete, Conquer).

 

Q) What is HIIT?

A) HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training.  This involves periods of intense anaerobic activity followed by a shorter period of rest.  An example of this would be doing push ups for 30 seconds and resting for 10 seconds.

 

Q) I have a medical condition, is this program right for me?

A) Yes, as long as you have clearance from your doctor for exercise.  Our staff will work with your to reach your goals.  Workouts will be adjusted to your individual needs.

 

Q) I have arthritis, is this program right for me?

A) Yes, exercise can help with arthritis.  Increases in strength and flexibility help reduce joint pain and help fight against fatigue.
